Kiddo Lifestyle | Audrey’s Cake Smash Session
The Flour Child over in Columbia, was gracious enough to allow me to pick up her (free) smash cake a few days prior to her actual cake pickup date. I explained that I’m a photographer & wanted to capture her cake smash session prior to her party, so that I could print out photos & include them in her slideshow as well. 🙂 They accommodated & I’m so very thankful. They’re amazing for sure!
To go along with her Winter Onederland theme, I asked them to create a “naked” cake to keep it simple yet beautiful. It was perfect for the smash session since I planned on adding a faux eucalyptus garland to surround the cake stand. (Thanks to Target’s dollar spot of course on both accounts. Big fan over here.)
She wasn’t quite feeling herself this day since she’s had an ongoing runny nose for some time now. She’s been sleeping a lot of her days away as of late, but is happily playing with her toys & giggling the next second. You would never have guessed that she started with the stomach bug just hours after we completed this shoot in her bedroom. Luckily it was just a 24 hr bug, but still… not fun.
She was hesitant to dive into the cake at first, so I pulled some cake off to give to her. Once she realized it was indeed edible & oh so delicious, she started diving in a little faster.
And her cute little dress!? I Amazon “prime’d” that little number. Just $11.98 & 2 days later we had a fun little tutu dress. I ended up having her wear her silver dress the day of the party since she wasn’t feeling well & figured she needed the longer sleeves.
The balloon via Party City & that crate (one of many that I now own)… all thanks to my Pap & his orchard days. He’s no longer with us, but it’s amazing how often I utilize his handcrafted crates that his very own hands built, whether it be for my photo shoots or our end tables in the living room. He’s always with us.
And now…. her photos 🙂
