7 months//

Sleeping: Sleeping has taken a turn for the worse lately. I blame most of it on teething, but also most likely another growth spurt or 2. Her naps are very irregular. We have no schedule should anyone ask me “When does she nap?” Some mornings she may wake up at 7:30 and be ready to go back in for a nap an hour later. Other mornings she’ll nurse & then simply go right back into bed, sleeping in until 11 a.m. Most days lately, she’ll start to nap only to wake within 45 minutes. I look forward to the day when she’ll start napping in a longer chunk. I even had a day or 2 recently where she must have been in so much teething pain that she wanted me to cuddle her while she napped on me. As sad as it was, I soaked it all up since it just never happens. At nights, she has been keeping her milk factory game strong with waking 2 times a night, with an occasional spurt of 3 wakings a night for feedings. My body never handles those intermittent doses of sleep very well, so I basically go their first year of life with lots of morning headaches. Coffee helps for sure.

Eating: We’ve introduced avocado, carrots, banana & oatmeal by this point. I wouldn’t say that she seems to prefer one food over the other, she just starts kicking those feet & shaking her hands in anticipation. I’ve been utilizing my frozen milk supply when we mix up her oatmeal for added calories of course. Can’t waste that liquid gold. And yay for starting to free up some freezer space again! Puffs, we’ve tried. However, she seems to still gag or choke on a few here & there & I’m just not comfortable with how she’s handling those yet to continue. I’ll hold off on trying those again for a little.

Personality: Our happy, smiley girl needs to come back. I feel like this teething business has taken ahold of her full force lately & it’s quite sad. She still throws around her big smiles when she’s up to it, but I just need those darn teeth to break through already. Along with teething, our little girl is growing up. I can no longer put her in one place on the floor & come back to find her where I left her. Just the other day, I couldn’t find Audrey & it turns out she rolled herself around the living room floor & ended up hiding under the coffee table. She’s quite good at getting to the toy that she desires by that technique & is also getting stronger by the day. She holds her cobra pose for an extended time & when she tries to move forward, ends up moving backwards instead getting frustrated of course… I mean, who wouldn’t. It’s only a matter of time I’m sure until it’s time to lock things up around here & really stay on our toes. It’s sure going to be fun keeping her big brother Kylo away as she crawls & any tiny toys that her big sister should be leaving around. For now, she’ll rock the exersaucer & sitting up with pillows for support. She also does this thing lately where she’ll either do a low, raspy growl or scrunch up her sweet little face & sort of breathe in & out heavily & rapidly. It’s cute, whatever it is.

Happy 7 months Audrey! Time sure is flying right on by.
